Frequently Asked Questions
This page provides key information to the conference delegates. Please also check other pages on this website.
The information may be updated periodically.
1. “Do I need a visa to enter Denmark? How to get it?”
Here is a list of official websites about tourist visas:
- Countries with a visa requirement and visa-free countries
- Need to know & How to apply
- “ApplyVisa” site
Please apply for a tourist visa. That will cover your short stay in Denmark for the conference period. You are strongly advised to apply as early as possible. The processing time of a visa application is normally expected to take 15 days, but occasionally takes longer.
2. “What is the currency in Denmark?”
The Danish Krone (DKK) is Denmark’s official currency. While some large tourist attractions or hotels may accept euros, it is not guaranteed. You will certainly need Danish kroner for most of your purchases.
3. “What language is spoken in Denmark?”
The official language of Denmark is Danish. However, most Danes speak English well as a second language. For more historical background and some variations, this link may be of interest.
4. “How cold is it in Denmark in November?”
The Danish weather in November will be cold, but temperatures should stay above freezing in the capital region during early November. The average daytime high will be 7°C, but it will feel a few degrees lower on windy days. The temperature may go down to around 2°C to 4°C at night.
5. “Can I get a certificate of attendance?”
Once you have registered for the conference, please email the Conference Chair (Faith Hatani at fha.egb@cbs.dk) and let her know that you wish to receive an attendance certificate. A certificate will be given on your arrival at the conference (or possibly afterwards, in the form of an electronic file).
6. “Which hotel would you recommend, and is there any discount?”
For our recommended hotels near the conference venue, please see the page “Accommodation” (under the “Registration” tab on the header menu). There may be some discount rates, but we are still in the process of negotiation. The updates will be provided on that page.
